Wingfoiling Holidays To Icaraizinho
Icaraizinho is a very special stretch of Northern Brazil, offering a relaxed, charming setting with excellent wingfoiling conditions for all levels. This small beach fishing village has a handful of restaurants, boutique pousadas and simple local amenities, all set along a wide, beautiful beach. The steady trade winds and mix of flat water and small waves make it ideal for both learning and progression.
There are some excellent properties Planet Travel work with directly by the main Wingfoiling spot, as well as a new high-end luxury resort opening at the back end for 2026 (we are very excited by the opening of this long-awaited property)
We generally recommend 3 to 5 days here as part of a wider trip along this stunning coastline, although it can also work well for a longer, more laid-back stay, especially if you are travelling with a partner or family.
When planning a wingfoiling holiday to Brazil, getting the right advice on location, accommodation and centres is key. What Are The Wingfoiling Conditions Like In Icaraizinho
What are the Wingfoiling conditions like in Icaraizinho?
Icaraizinho offers some very user-friendly wingfoiling conditions. The spot sits within a large, curved bay that naturally creates a range of water states, allowing riders to choose conditions that suit their level and style on any given day.
The wind here is driven by the northeast trade winds, which are extremely reliable from July through to December. During this period, you can expect consistent daily wind, typically building through the morning and peaking in the afternoon. At the height of the season, particularly from August to November, winds regularly exceed 20 to 25 knots, making it ideal for smaller wings and high-performance riding.
Inside the bay, particularly at low tide, you will find large areas of flat, protected water. These sections are perfect for beginners learning to get up on the foil, as well as intermediates working on gybes and tacks. As you move further out, the water becomes more choppy, offering classic bump-and-jump conditions ideal for freeride wingfoiling. On the outer edges and near the reef, small to moderate waves form, providing a natural progression into wave riding without being too intimidating.
Another key advantage is space. The bay is wide and uncrowded, with plenty of room to launch, ride and progress without pressure. This makes it particularly appealing compared to busier spots like Jericoacoara, especially for those still building confidence or travelling with family.
Water temperatures remain warm year-round, typically in the mid to high 20s Celsius, so you can ride comfortably in boardshorts or a light top. The air temperature is similarly consistent, usually around 26 to 30°C, creating very comfortable overall conditions.
Icaraizinho is one of the most complete wingfoiling locations in Brazil. It combines strong, consistent wind, safe conditions, and a unique mix of flat water, chop and small waves within a single bay. This makes it ideal for beginners, improvers and intermediate riders, while still offering enough variety to keep more experienced wingfoilers engaged over multiple days.
