While occasional flooding occurs, it is rare during the main dry and windy tourist season from November to June.

Reaching Holbox is straightforward: a 2-hour road transfer from Cancun and a short fast-ferry ride. Cars are not allowed on the island; instead, RVs shuttle visitors to their accommodations. Although many hotels are quite 'tired', there are still some hidden gems that provide a great experience and quality accommodation. The island gets particularly lively from Christmas through March.

Wingfoiling in Holbox is best enjoyed through guided sessions with local schools that navigate you to the ideal spots for the day’s wind direction. However, although kitesurfing is restricted to certain Kitesurf zones, there is currently no restriction on Wingfoiling, so you can start straight in front of your chosen hotel (as long as there are not too many people in the water).

The island offers warm, turquoise waters, stunning sandbars, and pristine beaches, making it a paradise for water sports. With vast, flatwater areas and moderate, consistent winds, Holbox is an excellent location for learning to wingfoil or refining wingfoiling skills.
