Anyone can learn to wingfoil, so it is a great sport for all abilities including kids from around the age of 10 (even younger if they are already confident in water). If you have any experience with other 'ocean wind sports', like windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, and especially kite foiling, your progression will be very fast.
The basics of Wing Foiling - You hold an inflatable ‘wing’ in your hand and which, with the help of the wind, generates power. Then there is a board (normally s paddleboard to start with) that you ride on. Once you get used to moving around on the water the board size get reduced to a ‘Wingfoiling’ board that has a hydrofoil underneath. Once you generate a bit of speed, the whole boar will lift off the water so you can ‘glide’ effortlessly. It is an indescribable feeling when you first ‘get on foil’, so much fun !
