Wingfoiling Holidays Le Morne
Whether you're a beginner Wingfoiler searching for tranquil waters within the lagoon or taking on the smaller waves at Little Reef, Le Morne caters to every skill level. For those seeking an exhilarating challenge, the sizable waves at Manawa and Chameau offer an exciting experience. Le Morne is an ideal spot for Wing Foilers of all levels. A large world-class Wingfoil centre is right on the main beach at the end of JW Marriott Resort, with a large stick on the newest Duotone equipment.
The wind mostly comes from the East or Southeast (from the left) and has an average speed of 12 to 20 knots in the Mauritian summer (November to March) and about 20 to 30 knots in the Mauritian winter (April to October). In the winter, the trade winds are stronger. So, although this is a year-round spot, the best time to Wingfoil is June through November, although December can also sometimes be good.
On very low tides, Wingfoiling is restricted to some regions of the lagoon, which have shorter masts.

The Weather In Maritius, Le Morne
There are broadly two seasons in Mauritius: the hot humid Summer (November - Apr) and the cooler, windy Winter (May to October). The warmest months are December to February, when temperatures are in the mid 30's, with the risk of tropical cyclones in late Jan / early Feb. The cooler wind season from May to November has temperatures starting from mid 20's getting progressively warmer up to the low 30's. Although you can get wind all year round in Mauritius, the prime season is June to November, with the top month being August to October.
Mauritius is a great location for a warm, windy Holiday in the European summer, to escape the excessive heat of Europe and the Middle East.
Families And Kids In Le Morne
Mauritius is one of the best family holiday destinations on the Planet, with many of the hotels offering excellent child care and babysitting. Most of the beachfront resorts we work with have excellent kids clubs catering for 4-11-year-olds. The JW Marriott is especially good, with an extended 'teens' activities program. Mauritius is also considered one of the safest holiday locations, with excellent medical services should the need arise.
On the water, there are lots of fun activities, both wind and motor-driven. The flat water lagoon in Le Morne is an excellent spot for kids taking their first steps into Windsurfing, Wing Foiling or Kitesurfing. Safety is always the top priority, and our partner watersport centre has all the best equipment for children to use, including special iRigs for smaller windsurfers.
Off the water, there are some great family activities and days out. Highlights include The Nile Crocodiles and Giant Tortoises Park, Dolphin watching trips from Tamarind Bay, Casela Nature Park to see the big cats and even 'Walk with the Lion's (min age requirements), and much more.
