beach of Viana do Castelo in Northern Portugal, is a perfect place for all levels of Wing Foiler. But why? The consistent winds between May and September blow side shore from the right, over a long waterbreak, creating a large flat water area - great for learning. Then for those wanting to hit some easy waves, the Atlantic swell rapes around the end of the water break, cleaning clean lines of small waves. The further downwind you go, the bigger the wave gets, so you can just pick your spot. The water also gets deep quite quickly from the beach. The fully stocked Wing Foiling Centre is right on the beach, with changing rooms and a small restaurant.
This is also an excellent spot for a multi-sport holiday and really awesome for active families who want to be kept busy on and off the water. The watersports centre has surf classes every morning, plus all the toys for windsurfing, Wingfoil, Kitesurf and SUP. Off the water, there is a superb mountain bike and road bike centre, with top-of-the-line Specialised gear, including electric off-roaders. A short walk down around the corner to the river mouth is a wakeboarding centre with tow lines and a boat. For runners, this place is heaven, with loads of scenic trails. You will definitely not be bored here!
