The itinerary
Rhodes South
After picking up your car rental from Rhodes airport, take either the West Coast or East Coast route down to Prasonisi (1.5 hours either way). Plenty of opportunities to stop off on the way for food or a swim!
Arriving at Prasonisi Luxury Villas for a 5 night stay - set in the small Village of Katavia, just North of the amazing spot of Prasonisi, with flat water and waves on either side.
About Rhodes South +
Prasonisi is a small wind haven in the far south of the Island of Rhodes, approximately a 1-and-a-half-hour drive from Rhodes airport. This resort is dedicated to Wing Foilers, Kitesurfers, and Windsurfers, with very reliable strong wind, superb centres with the latest equipment, and both super flat water and small waves right next to each other. Prasonisi is the ideal resort for those who want to spend the maximum time on the water! The accommodation on the spot is modern and very comfortable, ideally located next to the beach. There are a handful of restaurants and a supermarket. For a dedicated Wing Foiling holiday, this place is absolute heaven!
If you would prefer to have a high standard of accommodation, then the luxury Atrium Prestige is only 20-minute drive away and highly recommended. We have superb prices at this property, so it can be a great option if you don't mind the short drive to the Wing Foiling beach. This is also the best option if you are travelling with any non-wing foilers, especially families.
Rhodes North
After your 5th night in Kattavia, it is time to take the West Coast route upto Ixia for the last 5 nights of the trip. Another chance to enjoy some stunning scenery viewpoints and small towns along the way. Kiters can check out Theolgolos and Kremasti on the way (this is the Kitesurf area) - Windsurfers and Wingfoilers are able to launch right outside the Sheraton Rhodes with our recommended centre.
Check into the Sheraton Rhodes for a 5 night stay with Breakfast included (Room and Board upgrades are certainly possible)
About Rhodes North +
Rhodes, the second largest of the Greek islands, has long been a favoured summer destination for Northern Europeans due to its easy access with numerous flights from various regional airports. The island's northern part, particularly Rhodes Town, presents a captivating blend of historic architecture, quaint cobblestone streets lined with shops and eateries, and a lively nightlife scene. Rhodes stands out for its historical charm and as a fantastic Wingfoil holiday destination.
Heading south from Rhodes Town is an extensive stretch of connected beaches, flanked by hotels. The main Wing Foiling areas are Ialyssos and Ixia beach. From May to October this area has very reliable wind, with the town of Rhodes heating up during the summer, which draws the wind along these areas. Even with a low wind forecast the wind is very accelerated due to this effect. Planet Wingfoil partners with the two best Wing Foiling centres in Northern Rhodes, at Ialyssos and Ixia. The wind here is very stable and cross to cross on-shore. There can be a little wind chop, which total beginner Wing Foilers may find a little challenging at first (it is always ideal to have very flat water to start if possible). Once you are standing, and on-foil, this is a super Wing Foiling destination. Reliable wind, great equipment (if you do not have your own), good quality hotels by both spots, and great facilities for non-Wingfoiling partners or families.
