Why we rate this centre

Lassarga - It’s a piece of virgin land, right in front of a 1.5km sandy beach with a fantastic point break that generates a great right wave. You can even see that on the satellite picture of Google Maps, how the swell comes from north-northwest and “embraces” the point, creating a nice series of waves. On good days, you can surf almost 1km, from the point break to the fisherman´s village at the end of the beach (almost 2 min on the wave!). During the season (October to March) this is one of the best spots in Dakhla for surfing and is also close to several other spots that complement the offer.

The wind in Dakhla usually comes from a north-northeast direction, so the spot is not beginner-friendly, but it does offer fantastic possibilities for intermediate and advanced riders. For beginners, on the other side of the peninsula (right around the corner, so to say) there is another nice sandy beach with shallow water-oriented from north to south, so that wind there is usually side to side-onshore, making it a great spot for beginners. The whole flat land behind that beach gets flooded depending on tides, creating a flat shallow water lagoon that is perfect for beginners.

This centre also offers foil-training and kitesurf strapless training. The minimum level for kitesurf-foil-training: able to kite on a strapless board.

Kitesurfing Lessons with a personal instructor gives you the opportunity to have a 2-on-1 interaction with your instructor to help you learn at a pace that is driven by you. The Learn To Kitesurf course aims to get you riding, while also teaching you how to read the conditions and utilise your equipment safely and correctly.


You will start with the basics; this includes setup of your equipment, safety features that you will utilise and how to fly a small 2metre trainer kite. When your instructor feels you are ready you can then head to the water. On day one you will only be using the kite and not go on the board just yet. Entering the water is when the fun starts! Here you will be taught how to properly fly an inflatable kitesurfing kite, how to control your kite and what to do if you crash it in the water. On day one you will be comfortable flying the kite and know what to do in any situation.

Note:

Semi-private lessons are offered with a maximum of two people and ensure fast progression. Your course includes Kite, board, Harness, wetsuit, life jacket and insurance.
